Q: What does Pride mean to you?
Parish: Pride isn’t just a word; it's a journey. It's about embracing every part of yourself, even the parts society may not always understand. For me, Pride is a celebration of the confidence, love, and appreciation I have for the person I've become despite the challenges I've faced.
Q: When did you first hear about 2(X)IST?
Parish: Funny enough, I had an ex-boyfriend who was a huge fan of 2(X)IST. I may or may not have kept a couple of his shirts as souvenirs.
Q: Why did you choose to be a part of this 2(X)IST campaign?
Parish: I've recently embarked on a journey of self-discovery through my art and photography. Being a part of this campaign allows me to showcase more of myself and my identity. My pride in my orientation is a significant part of who I am, so being able to express that authentically was a no-brainer.
Q: First time taking the spotlight? How did you embrace it?
Parish: About a year and a half ago, I made the bold decision to leave behind my corporate job and pursue my passion for design and art. It was a moment of liberation, shedding the weight of societal expectations and embracing my true calling. While I'm sure I've taken the spotlight before, that was the first time I truly felt it shining on me, and I embraced it wholeheartedly.
